Summer Ski & Adventure
Les Deux Alpes
11 - 18 July 2009
Don't think just because the winters over that the skiing is too. At Snoworks the skiing never stops. If you've never tried skiing in the summer you'll be in for a surprise. Ski high up on the Les Deux Alpes Glacier from early in the morning to early afternoon. Les Deux Alpes has the biggest skiable glacier in Europe with 4 chairlifts and 7 drag lifts serving 8 blue runs, 2 green runs and a red run. The terrain is perfect for Race training and Piste Performance. The uplift to the Glacier opens at 7.15am and closes at 1.30pm so you can get as much as 5 hours of solid skiing in.
Why Ski in The Summer
Summer skiing is perfect for training. You can develop all the skills needed to take your skiing to the next level. There's not massively varied terrain and off piste but that's not the point. The object off summer training is to be able to develop your skills out of the terrain so when the winter comes you can head into the off piste, bumps, steep slopes etc knowing that you have the skills to cope.
There are skiers of all levels from novices to national squads all using the summer time to develop their skills in preparation for next winter. You'll be amazed at the level of the skiers on the glacier.
A.T. Performance / Race / Eurotest
We have three different types of courses running. A.T. Performance if you really want to get to grips with developing your technique. Race for adrenalin junkies and Eurotest for instructors training for their final exams. We have 2 GS stades reserved for Snoworks. For detailed information on each course click the relevant link.
A.T. Performance is an amazing course and has taken a number of years to develop. The object is to develop total versatility in all your movements so when the winter comes you are fully prepared to ski the whole mountain. This will turn into one of our most popular courses as skiers start to realize just what this course is about. See A.T. Performance
Race is race and if you're an adrenalin junkie then get yourself onto this course. Race is about 'Edges' and going fast. It's a fast track way to developing a whole host of skills. Development is more akin to how a child learns to walk. You'll be improving without even knowing it!! See Race
Eurotest is for instructors training for their final exams. Training is with our very own 4 time Olympic skier Emma Carrick-Anderson. Emma knows how to get the best out of everyone. She's raced to the very highest levels possible and is very eager to pass on her expertise and own experiences. See Eurotest

For the summer we have changed the format for both Race and Performance. Training will be for the whole duration the Glacier is open. The first lift up in the morning is around 7.30am and the last lift down around about midday so you could have between 4 to 5 hours of training per day. An immense amount of time to really develop those skills. All courses are from Monday to Friday.
Other levels, children, one to ones etc We are pretty flexible in the summer so if you are looking for training for other needs then those described above drop us an email and we may be able to accommodate you.
