TRAIN & QUALIFY BEFORE THE START OF THE SEASON

This unique ski gap course allows you to get full training prior to the start of the 2010/11 winter with the option of gaining the full BASI Level 2 ski instructor licence. Successful candidates on completion of their BASI Ski Instructor qualification are then free to source work in a resort for the whole winter.

Autumn skiing in Tignes on the Grande Motte

The 2010 Gap Course will be based in Tignes with superb training high on the Grand Motte glacier. The BASI Level 1 will either be taken in Tignes or Zermatt and the Level 2 in either Tignes or Courchevel.

Gap students are totally integrated into the Snoworks programme gaining an unrivalled look into the Snowsports industry with first class personal development. During the autumn Snoworks runs a full programme of courses alongside the Gap programme including:
• All Terrain Performance
• All Terrain
• Bumps
• Race
• Pro Instructor Training
• Eurotest Training (Giant Slalom)
• Test Technique Training (Slalom)
With both dedicated training for gap students and also the facility to slot into other Snoworks training courses we have the facility to tailor training to each Gap student according to their needs.

TEN REASONS TO BOOK YOUR GAP COURSE WITH SNOWORKS?

1. Train Before The Start Of The 2010 Season
You can train and qualify before the start of the season.

2. Work The Winter As A Qualified Ski Instructor
If you are successful at both the BASI level 1 & 2 you could be working the whole winter as a qualified ski instructor.

3. Tailored Training As An Individual
Snoworks is in a unique position. With all the courses we run alongside the Gap Programme, we are in the unique position of being able to tailor the training to each individual. If it's more 'Race' that's needed we can accommodate this. If it's more 'Technique Training' needed we can accommodate this. If it's more 'Understanding' needed we can accommodate this.

4. Small and Personal
Snoworks does not pride itself on being the 'Biggest' gap course provider. On the contrary we pride ourselves as being one of the most 'Personal and Tailored' Gap Course Providers. You will be one of only 20 Gap students.

5. First Class Accommodation
Snoworks operates in conjunction with Mark Warner. During the autumn we use the hotel l'Aguille Percee in Tignes solely for Snoworks Courses. Mark Warner provide accommodation in twin bedded rooms with private facilities. Full breakfast, afternoon tea & cakes and a full three course evening meal. As accommodation for a Gap Course this is unbeatable.

6. Staff
Emma Carrick-Anderson, 4 time Olympian and Current Trainer for the British Association of Snowsport Instructors. Lee Townend, Tutor for the British Association of Snowsport Instructors. Phil Smith, Snoworks Director and founder will be hosts for the gap course.

7. Race Training
As part of the gap programme race training is included. For those who wish to train more in race this can also be tailored accordingly. For BASI level 1 & 2 qualifications no race training experience is required. However if students wish to further their career in ski teaching Race Training experience is vital.

8. All day Training
Training is for all day, 5 days a week and there is a full after ski programme including lectures, video sessions and fitness training.

9. Pre Purchase Ski Equipment
You can benefit from Snoworks relationship with Salomon. We can provide ski equipment at reduced prices for purchase prior to the gap course. This offer includes Salomon XWing Tornado's (All Mountain) or Salomon 3V's (Slalom).

10. Price
At £6.485 (2009 price) this is very good value for money. 2 persons sharing in top class accommodation with full days training and all the reasons listed above. Book now and you can secure a place at last years price.

What level skier do you need to be?
Your entry level to the course depends on a number of factors so it's always best to contact us direct to discuss your level.
As a rough guideline to reach the required level within the 8 weeks before arriving you need:
• to be able to ski all pisted runs competently and at a good speed.
• to be able to ski the fall line on black runs.
• to be reasonably fit.
• to have a good mental attitude.
• to be willing to try new things and take on board new information.

Roughly a minimum of 8 to 10 weeks previous skiing is a pre-requisite but this can vary. It is really very individual.
