Women Ski Courses – January 6th 2013

Women Ski Courses with Emma Carrick-Anderson, 4 x Olympic skier and world class ski teacher.

Introduced in 2012 Powder Chicks is set to rocket in popularity in 2013. With only 14 places available spaces are going to fill pretty quickly. This is a chance to ski with 4 x Olympic ski racer and top instructor Emma for a week of all-mountain skiing.

Emma will be taking a maximum of 14 skiers in two groups for 5 half day sessions, 3 hours per session Monday to Friday. Sorry guys this week is for the ladies only!
(However we do have mixed All-Terrain courses running on the same week, so any blokes can still come along)

Minimum Requirements.
• Female
• All-mountain aspirations
• Skiing level – 4, 5, 6 – Ability to ski all reds whatever the conditions at a reasonable speed and easy blacks competently (Snoworks Level 4) to aspiring and competent all-mountain skiers (Snoworks Level 6). (click links for details)
• An open mind and willingness to experiment with new ideas
• A reasonable level of fitness.

“On the morning of the first day we were all slightly anxious, possibly more so than had it been a mixed sex group, but by run 2 our nerves had completely subsided. We ‘gee-d’ each other on and pushed ourselves without having to be ‘Macho’ or get to the front ahead of others. We didn’t feel we were trying to impress but simply enjoyed a fabulous week’s skiing, one of our best ever! We learnt simple skills to be able to go at whatever speed we wished to, to deal with difficult conditions and learnt how to control anxiety when faced with some real challenges.

We laughed at the falls but were equally supportive of each other and Emma was constantly positive, pushing us when required. We trusted her judgment completely and followed her wherever she took us. She had an ability to make us feel like we could do anything and with the right tools, we could! We literally skied the whole mountain and grew more confident every day to go wherever Emma took us.

Learning in a ‘female’ environment was fabulous. You will laugh, joke, be challenged, be utterly inspired and literally have one of the best week’s skiing. And to top if off you will be skiing with Emma who has competed in a mixed sex environment for years at the highest level of competition and yet can deliver simple, straight forward instructions which makes skiing anywhere on the mountain so much easier.
