HELI PICK-UP – BACKCOUNTRY TO BONNEVAL-SUR-ARC
Click for video of Bonneval Heli Pick-Up
A morning ski across to Val D’Isere and take the top lifts in Fornet as high as possible onto the glacier. A short 20 minute skin to the top col. From here we head into a huge deserted valley and ski backcountry all the way to the resort of Bonneval-Sur-Arc. There are numerous choices of routes that we can take all leading to Bonneval. You’ll have time for more off-piste using the local lifts in Bonneval before the heli picks us up and whisks us back across to Tignes or Val with spectacular views of the Vanoise National Park from above! NOTE: Touring skis needed for this trip.
Supplement for helicopter – around €150 per person.
HELI PICK-UP – BACKCOUNTRY FROM MICKEYS EARS TO LAC DE CHEVRIL
See video of this route.
Another classic off-piste route. One ski lift from Tignes followed by a 30 minute hike or short skin to Mickeys Ears. From here a stunning descent all the way to Lac De Chevril way below in the valley. Various routes to choose from depending on your level of experience from a steep couloir below Mickeys Ears to moderate more open slopes. Through the trees above Lac du Chevrill followed by helicopter back to Val D’Isere. Cost, wait for it – only around €50 per person. Or get dropped off on the top of the Solaise for approximately €70.

TARENTAISE TOUR
For video link of the Tarentaise Tour click here.
One of the classic Backcountry Routes that has to be done. You start from Tignes and take the Col du Palet draglift and at the top whilst everyone else heads down the piste towards Val Claret you go directly over the back. Take a deep breath and enjoy, you’re about to ski one of the great routes of the Tarentaise. The first section takes you down the valley under the shadow of the impressive Grande Casse to the small hamlet of Champagny en Haut. This is one of my favourite destinations and one of the top places for ski du fond and ski touring enthusiasts. A short taxi ride from here and you arrive at the village of Champagny where you take the telecabine into La Plagne. We go as high as possible onto the Bellcote glacier. Then take skiers right, another deep breath and you head backcountry to Peisey-Nancroix and the valley between La Plagne and Les Arcs. Another spectacular Backcountry descent. Catch the local bus and join the Les Arcs ski system. Across the ski area to the Aguille Rouge high above Les Arcs. Head skiers right and take a final deep breath and enjoy the third exhilarating backcountry descent as you descend towards the small hamlet of Villaroger. A final relax in ‘La Ferme’ with a well earned beer and a taxi back to Tignes. You’ve just skied four ski resorts and three classic backcountry descents all in one day.

BACKCOUNTRY ST FOY
Click here for video footage of two backcountry routes in St Foy
A short drive by taxi and you’re into the resort of St Foy. St Foy still remains an off-piste paradise with deserted slopes and massive amounts of off-piste hardly skied. Enjoy two classic off-piste backcountry routes. Take the top lifts and in one direction ski from the Fogliettaz and down to the village of Mazure. A minibus pick up, back round to St Foy and you still have time to do another classic route in the other direction down to the tiny summer hamlet of Monal.
These four great routes above combine with spectacular and easily accessible off piste and backcountry skiing in and around the Espace Killy, including but not limited to:
• Tour du Charvet
• Cugnai
• Vallon de la Sache
• Spatule – See video
• Pisteurs Couloir – See video
• Grand Vallon
• Col Pers
