Ski the incredible mountains of the famous Silk Road

In true Snoworks style join us for this incredble, once in a lifetime back country ski touring adventure in this virtually undiscovered area of central Asia.  New for 2021, Kyrgyzstan is a rugged country along the famous Silk Road – the ancient trade route between China and the Mediterranean – bordered by China, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.  The Tian Shan mountains which surround the old caravan route are home to fantastic wildlife such as snow leopards and lynx.  This is a ski touring adventure with a unique chance to discover the raw beauty of this country staying in traditional yurts, hotels and guest houses in the heart of the mountains.

Inspired by Snoworks instructor, Lee Townend’s epic Silk Road Mountain Race last summer – read his blog

Lee Townend and Dave Norman headed out for a quick reci of this magnificent counry winter 2020. Armed with touring skis, endless enthusiasm and love for skiing powder across the planet. Watch the video.
