October Training Camp Saas Fee 15th – 28th October
Saas Fee has long been a favourite of ours for Autumn training and this year we are offering a 2 week camp to U16 and FIS racers. Join us for 10 days of training and train beside the Worlds best. The camp will be a mixture of GS and Slalom training and for those who have not been to Saas Fee, the Glacier is one of the very best in Europe. Due to its height of over 3500m and the direction it faces conditions on the Glacier are often magical. The Worlds best use Saas Fee as their ‘go to’ training destination during the summer and autumn months as the conditions are usually incredible and the terrain is so varied.
We will train 10 out of 12 days and take our 2 days off snow working around the weather. If the weather is stable then we plan to ski 5 days, take 2 off, then ski 5.
The liftpass will be a 10 in 20 pass which allows for any off-snow days.
We will train until about 1300 then come off the mountain for lunch, ski tuning, video analysis and fitness. Saas Fee boasts some amazing sports pitches offering tennis, volleyball, paddle ball, basketball, a sprint track and several astro turf pitches so fitness sessions are fun and varied.
Accommodation will be in the stunning Barg Heimat Chalet in Saas Fee itself. We have space for 9 athletes plus our chalet host Sarah Ferand and her son who is also a FIS racer and long time athlete with Snoworks. Sarah will be cooking and offering pastoral care throughout the camp. The accommodation has 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a small sauna to aide with recovery after training. It really is a stunning chalet!
Travel to and from Saas Fee is actually easier than you might imagine. You can fly into Geneva then there are numerous trains leaving directly from Geneva airport to Bern then Visp. From Visp its a bus up to Saas Fee and we will be there to meet you. We can try to organise for everyone to come on the same train as this will be easier for everyone.
