Cat Skiing

This is powder heaven. No rushing to get first tracks. It’s only our group. Based in the unspoilt valley of the Adjara mountains. A perfect powder location with accommodation sitting at 2400 metres. The slopes sit between 2100 meters and 2755 metres. No ski lifts, no commercialism, no night clubs, noisy bars or skiers trashing your tracks. Just pure off piste skiing with access each day using a snowcat. Expect to have between 10 – 15 pick ups each day – it is a vast area with a massive amount of skiing.

Most skiing here is above the treeline, but we can drop down lower into some trees if we encounter bad weather. The routes here are not steep. opening this trip up to level 5 skiers and above, Those confident to ski for a week in deep snow and are able to skin to some routes using touring equipment.

Note: There may be times when snowstorms make it impossible to access the slopes. In this situation expect to spend a day in the lodge. Dreaming of powder and mentally rehearsing your turns.

ACCOMMODATION

We will be staying in a fabulous mountain lodge based in the Adjura mountains. It has two shared bedrooms for up to 10 people with bunk beds for guests, a sauna, shared shower and toilets. All meals are included during our stay and are based around eastern European dishes. The plentiful and varied food is prepared freshly each day, with trunks of food taken out each day for lunch.

Due to the location the power is generator based and there is a daily restriction of 6 hours. Heating is provided by a wood burner attended to by the local staff.
