ADV Ski Telluride

Ranked as one of North America’s top ten ski areas by both SKI and SKIING magazines, Telluride Ski Resort is recognized internationally as a premier ski destination. The terrain is legendary and has always been revered as the best of Colorado. The region receives on average more than 300 inches of snow annually and offers more than 2,000 skiable acres for all ability levels. With 300 days of yearly sunshine and no lift lines, the skiing is an epic experience.

On the east side the advanced skiing is mainly around Lift 9 and Lift 6 where you have steep bump runs like Kant-Mak-M and Spiral Stairs. The very steep black diamond Plunge trail descends a whopping 3,140 vertical feet from top to bottom and certainly gives a thrill. After a big dump head to the double black diamond Little Rose Trail for some deep powder turns.

Don’t miss the Black Iron Bowl terrain 1,100 vertical feet drop of back country style terrain. Before the 2007 winter season the area was only able to be accessed with guides but now the bowl located next to Prospect Bowl has eight new challenging runs littered with chutes, trees and open powder fields.

Also introduced for the 2007 winter season was 200 acres of backcountry terrain opened on the north face of Palmyra Peak. Almost 2,000 vertical feet of deep powder leads experts down into the Black Iron Bowl. New avalanche equipment allowed the ski patrol to open the area ensuring safe conditions for expert skiers wanting the ultimate powder run!

The 2008 season saw the opening of another backcountry bowl, Revelation, a natural snow trap located above the tree line on the north-eastern aspect of the resort. It is serviced by the Revelation quad chairlift and has both groomed trails for intermediate skiers as well as expansive open powder terrain littered with rock features and steep drops for  advanced skiers to explore.
