Grimentz is a real postcard village located at an altitude of 1,564 m.  Considered one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland, Grimentz is a tourist village which has managed to preserve its heritage and authenticity. All you have to do is visit the Bourgeois Cellar, Grandma’s House or even the Old Mill to take a leap several years into the past.

The Grimentz ski area, above Bendolla, extends from the Becs de Bosson to almost 3000 m above sea level, where there are amazing views of the Anniviers valley and the Rhône valley. The area has an average annual snowfall of 263 cm per year and on average 20 annual snowfall days, so we head here each year to give you the best prospects of some powder days.

Accommodation options:

NEW FOR 2025!  We are excited to be able to offer the fantastic Hôtel du Cristal à Grimentz for our skiers.  Please contact the tourist office reservations office on [email protected] and tell them you are with the Snoworks group.

Travel Suggestions:

Many people transfer between airports and resort by train for this week.  Take a train from Geneva to Grimentz via Brig and Sierre, then a public bus up to resort.

FAQ's

What's the difference between Off Piste courses and the Grimentz Backcountry course?

Both courses feature off piste skiing. Off Piste courses are half days with Snoworks instructors and this Backcountry course is full days with a combination of Snoworks instructors and local ski guides.  This course also features the use of ski touring equipment to access some routes.

Will I be skiing with people of a similar skiing standard?

Yes, this is our aim. Our instructors arrange groups of skiers that will complement each other to progress and improve.  We may have different groups running alongside one another, or mixed level groups depending on numbers.

A quiet Swiss resort. Snoworks use Stefano as their local guide, he knows this place like the back of his hand, and found some unbelievable skiing. Like skiing anywhere else it all depends on the weather. Last year I did some ski tours, we found amazing snow weeks after the last proper snowfall. This year I only did two very short skins of 15 or 20 minutes. From Snoworks there was Nick and Ben and as a team they delivered a great week’s skiing.

Another wonderful week with Snoworks, this time in Zinal. A combination of top class, insightful and friendly tuition from Nick and Ben, excellent local guiding by Stefano and great company. Some amazing snow, challenging skiing and a lot of fun and laughter over the whole week. Thank you!
