FAQ's

What's the difference between the Off Piste and Backcountry courses?

Both courses feature off piste skiing. Off Piste courses are half days with Snoworks instructors and Backcountry courses are full days either with Snoworks instructors, or sometimes a combination of Snoworks instructors and local ski guides.. Some Backcountry courses use ski touring equipment to access routes.

Will I be skiing with people of a similar skiing standard?

Yes, this is our aim. Our instructors arrange groups of skiers that will complement each other to progress and improve.  We may have different groups running alongside one another, or mixed level groups depending on numbers.

Skiing Trip to La Plagne with Snoworks: An Unforgettable Backcountry Adventure I recently had the pleasure of joining a backcountry skiing trip to La Plagne, France, organized by Snoworks and led by the exceptional Jenny. From start to finish, the trip was an unforgettable experience, combining thrilling skiing, breathtaking views, and top-notch service. La Plagne, part of the Paradiski area, is a skier’s dream, and our backcountry adventure took us off the beaten path, exploring some truly incredible terrain. Jenny, our guide, was a standout throughout the week. Her expertise and calm demeanor instilled confidence in the group, ensuring that we were able to tackle some challenging and exciting routes with safety and style. She also did a great job of tailoring the trip to the group’s abilities, so everyone was pushed to improve without ever feeling overwhelmed. The backcountry skiing was fantastic. We spent our days skiing pristine powder, navigating varied terrain that kept us engaged and thrilled throughout. Whether we were carving through trees, skiing wide-open bowls, or taking in the stunning mountain vistas, every run felt like a unique adventure. Jenny’s guidance and knowledge of the area made sure we got the most out of the terrain, allowing us to explore the beauty of the mountains in a way that’s simply not possible on the marked pistes. One of the highlights of the trip was the excellent selection of restaurants Jenny chose for our lunch breaks. After a morning of skiing, there was nothing better than settling into a cozy mountain hut or a charming alpine bistro for a well-earned rest and delicious food. The quality of the food was exceptional, and the warm, welcoming atmospheres of the restaurants added to the overall experience. It was clear that Jenny had carefully selected each spot to ensure that we got the best of what the area had to offer. In addition to the skiing and food, the whole Snoworks team provided fantastic support throughout the trip. Everything from the logistics to the equipment was handled smoothly, allowing us to focus on the adventure at hand. All in all, this backcountry skiing trip to La Plagne with Snoworks was an outstanding experience. If you’re looking for a thrilling and well-organized backcountry skiing adventure, I highly recommend this trip. Jenny’s leadership, the stunning terrain, and the excellent lunch spots made this an unforgettable week on the slopes!

Another excellent week with Snoworks. Jenny and Euan were superb leaders and found some great skiing for the group even on days with less than ideal conditions. Most importantly they made it a lot of fun.

Thank you for another great Snoworks experience. Jenny knows La Plagne better than the back of her hand and guided us to lots of off piste powder snow that we could not have skied safely without her. And she and Dave took and shared lots of photos and videos of everyone. Thanks to all – I’ll definitely be back to ski with Snoworks again.

A return customer of Snoworks since 2016. This was my first trip to La Plagne, and the Snoworks team delivered again making the best of the conditions all week. The snow was great on Friday, however visibility was an issue, but “Jenny” from Snoworks found the best place to ski in La Plagne. Skiing under the Carella Chair lift on Friday, was the place to be on that day and what a day’s skiing! Best snow in years. I chose to stay with one of Snoworks recommended accommodation suggestions, this was “The Lovely Chalet Company’s” Chalet Marmotte. It was clean, warm and the food was great.
