Course Details

An introduction into the incredible world of ski touring. Join us and experience the freedom and beauty of the mountains away from the bustling resort. No previous ski touring experience is required. Ski touring opens up a whole new world of skiing where you earn your turns. Ski touring equipment can be rented in resort.

Another option if you wish to try touring for the first time is our Backcountry course in Baqueira Beret. 

Minimum requirements for this course:
•⁠ ⁠Skiers who are competent to ski off piste Backcountry for full days, Level 5 and above.
•⁠ ⁠Skiers who have a good level of fitness to ski all day off piste in all conditions, with a break for lunch
•⁠ ⁠Ability to get up unaided after a fall is essential

Required Equipment

Touring skis, bindings, skins and ski crampons are required for this course – If you don’t have your own, then we recommend pre-booking your touring ski equipment here: Skimium or SkiHigher

Resort Information

The biggest ski area in the world. And some would say the best!

Meribel is situated in the heart of Les 3 Vallées with direct access to 600 km of pistes.  The 3 linked resorts of Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens offer you vast amounts of on and off piste skiing.

For over 20 years now Les 3 Vallées has been able to guarantee opening from the beginning of December to the end of April, with the runs located between altitudes of 1,100m and 3,230m.  The area also has the benefit of regular top-ups with over 2,700 snowmakers covering the ski area.

Our team here at Snoworks will show you the amazing and vast playground of this fantastic ski area, both on and off piste. Join us and let our instructors help you discover new routes and the best snow conditions.

What’s the difference between Backcountry and Ski Touring courses (formally Backcountry Access)?

For Backcountry courses the off piste descents are accessed by ski lifts alone, for Ski Touring courses the descents are accessed by ski lifts and touring skis, involving skinning for up to 2 hours per day.
