For skiers that are willing to put in a bit more work to access unbelievable off piste descents with the use of touring skis and skins. Using the lift system to gain as much height as possible then skinning to open up a whole world of off piste that can’t be accessed by relying only on the use of ski lifts alone.
Unlike longer hut to hut trips, our course is all about the skiing, returning to the same resort at the end of each day. Each ascent with skins will last from 30 minutes to 2 hours with possibly one bigger ascent of a 3 – 4 hour skin. If you have never ski toured we recommend booking our Intro to Ski Touring course.

Both courses feature off piste skiing. Off Piste courses are half days with Snoworks instructors and Backcountry Courses are full days either with Snoworks instructors, or sometimes a combination of Snoworks instructors and local ski guides.. Some Backcountry courses use ski touring equipment to access routes.
Yes, this is our aim. Our instructors arrange groups of skiers that will complement each other to progress and improve. We may have different groups running alongside one another, or mixed level groups depending on numbers.
Fabulous course run by Sam Pickup. Passionate instructor and knowledgeable guide who delivered fantastic skiing opportunities despite some sub-optimal weather conditions. Thank you for a great holiday.
A fantastic week of off piste ski touring on the Backcountry Access course with Lee. Amazing day tour adventures away from the bustling resort and with his touring technique and ski skill tips, my off piste skiing has come on enormously. Exhaustingly enjoyable!
