New Snowdome for the West
A £50-million scheme to build the longest indoor ski slope in the country at Weston-super-Mare has just been given the go-ahead.
The centre will feature a 210m ski slope, 40m climbing wall and surfing centre all inside a giant building at the former RAF site at Locking Parklands. Operator Leisuredome UK believe the real snow slope, planned to open in early 2013, will attract more than 500,000 visitors a year and create up to 800 new jobs.
