Snoworks Gap Student Isla Marsh Reports On Her Season In Japan On BBC Radio

Snoworks Gap Student Isla Marsh did not quite know what to expect when enrolling on an autumn Gap Course with Snoworks. 8 weeks of intense training in October, November and December culminated in achieving the BASI level 2 ski instructor qualification. Isla was qualified to teach skiing by mid December before the winter had even started. Thus ensuring her dream of working a winter as a ski instructor became a reality.

The whole Gap programme is overseen by BASI Trainer and Snoworks Gap Director Lee Townend. Lee runs the gap programme with passion treating every gap student as though they were part of an extended Snoworks family. Lee’s responsibilities even go as far as helping students secure work placements for the winter and in Isla’s case this involved a winter in Japan.

Each gap student has the responsibility to research and source their own work placement. However Lee is always on hand to help and advise wherever he can and Isla along with a number of other Snoworks Gap students found themselves heading off to Japan for a winter season.

Isla was recently interviewed by her local radio station BBC Solent on her experience in Japan. Click the link below to listen to the full interview.
